Taptu Selects Denver For U.S. Office, Hires Mitch Lazar

English mobile search engine firm Taptu, which is backed by Sofinnova and DFJ Espirit, has selected Denver as the location of a new office, the firm said today, and also hired Mitch Lazar as President and Chief Operating Officer. Lazar will be located at the Denver Tech Center. The firm said the office will head up its business development, marketing, and product management. R&D will remain in Cambridge, England. Lazar was most recently MD of Yahoo! Mobile in Europe, and also served at Time Warner and CNN.com. Taptu said it selected Denver because it is a technology hub, and is convenient to both the East and West coast.
