Tandberg Data Ships LTO-4 Tape Autoloader

Boulder, Colorado-based Tandberg Data Corporation, a developer of tape drives and libraries, said today that it is shipping its fourth genreation LTO tape drive autoloader. The firm's Magnum 1x7 Autoloader includes support for the new LTO-4 tape drive format, with capacity of up to 11.2TB and data transfers of 864 GB/hr. The company said that it expects the estimated street price of the new hardware to be below $6,400. Tandberg's tape division, which is based in Boulder, Colorado, was formerly Exabyte.
