Tallwave Accelerator Adds Intel's Barrett, Avnet's Vallee To Board

Phoenix, Arizona-based startup accelerator/incubtaor Tallwave has two new, big names on its board of directors this morning: retired Intel Chairman and CEO Craig Barrett, and former Avnet Chairman and CEO Roy Vallee. Tallwave, which helps build early stage and growth ventures, calls itself a "commercializer" to help commercialize startups and early-stage ventures; it says that so far it has taken more than 65 companies through its process. Tallwave is led by Jeffrey Pruitt. Both Barrett and Vallee had been advisors to Tallwave.

Barrett joined Intel in 1974, eventually becoming CEO in 1998, and Chairman of the Board of the company in 2005. Vallee was chairman and chief executive at Avnet from July 1998 until July 2011.
