EdgeCore Plans New Silicon Valley Data Center

Denver-based EdgeCore Internet Real Estate, a developer and operator of data centers, said on Monday that it has acquired land in Santa Clara, California, for a new data center. According to EdgeCore, the new property will support 80 MW of critical data center capacity. The exact size of the new data center, whcih will be the company's fifth US data center, was not announced. EdgeCore also did not say how much it paid for the land, in what is one of the nation's most expensive real estate markets. According to Edgecore, it expects the first phase of capacity at its new data center to be available during 2020. EdgeCore also is developing or runs data centers in Dallas, Phoenix, Northern Virginia, and Reno, which total 4.4 million square feet and 800 MW of data center capacity.
