Report: Arizona Probing Google's Location Data Practices

The state of Arizona is launching a probe of Google, according to a report yesterday, over the company's collection of location information on Android phones. According to the report, from the Washington Post, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich has launched an investigation which would lead to hefty fines for Google, over the company's apparent collection of location information on users--even if they had thought they'd opted out of location tracking. According to researchers, Google has been collecting--and storing--location information on people when they use such tools as Google Maps or its search engine, even if users have turned off location services on their phones.
