Bestow, Founded By BYU Grads, Gets $15M To Expand Life Insurance Service

Bestow, a startup which is developing new consumer life insurance products--which are only available in Utah and Texas a the moment--has raised $15M in a Series A funding, the company said on Monday. The funding was led by Valar Ventures, and also included New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Core Innovation Capital, 8VC, and Morpheus Ventures. Bestow, which is based in Dallas, Texas, currently has Utah as one of its only two markets; the company is planning to go nationwide later this year. Bestow launched its insurance services in Utah in November of last year. Bestow was founded by entrepreneurs and Brigham Young University graduates Melbourne O'Banion and Jonathan Abelmann.
