Tax Guard Gets Private Equity Funding

Boulder-based Tax Guard, a provider of technology-enabled federal tax due diligence services for commercial lenders, has scored a private equity funding from Falfurrias Capital Partners. Size of the investment was not announced. Tax Guard, which is led by co-founder and CEO Hansen Rada, develops technology which helps uncover hidden tax liabilities for commercial lenders, determining such issues as outstanding tax liabilities, missing tax returns, tax deposit verification, and Federal tax liens. As part of the investment, Falfurrias Capital said that Chris Marshall, the co-founder and former CFO of Capital Bank, will join Tax Guard as executive chairman; and it also adds Joe Price, former Bank of America CFO, and Geordie Pierson, Principal at Falfurrias, to the board.
