Skillful, Markle Team With Colorado, Other States To Connect Job Seekers

Skillful, the online platform aimed at helping job seekers increase their job skills with training--rather than a college degree--along with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, said today that they have launched an effort called the Skillful State Network. According to Governor Hickenlooper and Markle CEO Zoe Baird, the new Skillful State Network is an effort to create a skills-based labor market where employers are able to find the talent they need and individuals can continuously acquire new skills and keep up with the pace of change. The launch of the network pulls in the governors of 20 other states. Skillful's online market focuses on skills, not a college degree, in an attempt to help connect workers with the actual skills needed for a job, rather than relying on a college degree, which may not be a true indicator of a worker's abilities. Skillful's online service helps to also connect workers with training on skills so they can meet the needs of those employers.
