Avnet Jumps On AI Chatbot Bandwagon

Phoenix-based technology and electronics distributor Avnet has jumped on the artificial intelligence-driven, "chatbot" bandwagon, saying this week that it has rolled out a new "intelligent agent" service called Ask Avnet. Avnet said visitors to its website can now use Ask Avnet to find products and other information, including order status, information on Hackster.io and element14, and eventually connect users with customer service, technical support, or its application engineers. Avnet said the service has been in close beta testing in July, and is now in public beta.
