Spectra Logic Ties Into Data Storage Group

Boulder, Colorado-based Spectra Logic, a developer of tape backup and archiving systems, said today that it has joined in an industry effort called the Active Archive Alliance. The firm, which said it is a founding member of the new group, said the storage industry association will promote active active archives, a technique which allows customers to access offline archives as extensions of online storage systems. Other firms in the group include Compellant Technologies, FileTek, and QStar Technologies.
