Sphero: Toy Car Driving Robot

In more "fun with robots", Boulder-based Orbotix, the firm developing the Sphero robotic ball, released a new YouTube video over the weekend showing the Sphero driving a toy car. The project--whipped up with parts from local Boulder electronics retailer SparkFun, shows the Sphero controlling a toy car using a computer trackball. The Sphero is a robotic ball, which can be controlled via a smartphone, and which also includes programming interfaces and other tools for developers. In this case, Orbotix said the toy car costs less than $10.00, and was made up of parts from SparkFun including trackball, Arduino board, and H-bridge components.
