Spectra Logic Taps StorageTek Vets To Head New Division

Boulder-based Spectra Logic is launching a new emerging technology division, the firm said today, and has tapped two former StorageTek/Sun Microsystems execs to head up the effort. Spectra Logic said that Jon Benson has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of Emerging Markets, and David Trachy has been named Senior Director of Emerging Storage Systems Technologies. Benson was at STK for more than 19 years, and later served as SVP of Worldwide Storage, Tape, and Disk for Sun after the STK acquisition; Trachy was former Director of Innovation for Sun's Storage Group, and had been at STK since 1979. Both have been hevaily involved in tape products from STK/Sun over the years.
