Sorenson Communications Adds Blackberry Product

Salt Lake City-based Sorenson Communications, a provider of video relay services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals, said today that it has launched a new product for the BlackBerry smart phone. Sorenson said its SIPRelay Mobile for Blackberry allows users to place free wireless calls from their Blackberry smart phone, which are routed through the firm's services. The company said the service allows users to send messages to Sorenson, which has an operator read that person a message, listens to responses, and sends those back to the user. The services are targeted to deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals who use American Sign Language to communicate.
