Sorenson App to Power Verizon Hub Video Playback

Compression and encoding software maker Sorenson Media Inc. revealed recently that mobile communications provider Verizon Wireless has licensed Sorenson's Spark video application. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. According to Sorenson, its Spark codec is the most widely accessed in the industry and will enable Verizon Hub customers to watch video on their home telephones in the same way they can view Internet video playback on their desktop and laptop computers.
