Sophono Gets $7M

Boulder-based Sophono, a developer of implantable, medical devices for improving hearing, said that it has raised $7M in a growth funding. The Series B round was led by Wexword Capital. Sophono develops bone-implanted, medical hearing devices which use internally planted magnets that connect to an external audio processor, to help treat conductive hearing loss (outer or middle ear), mixed hearing loss (both middle and inner ear), and single-ear deafness.
