SMART Storage Acquired By SanDisk

SMART Storage Systems, a developer of enterprise, solid state disk drives with operations in Longmont, Colorado, has been acquired by SanDisk in a $307M deal, which completed today. The deal--which had been announced in July--makes SMART Storage Systems a part of SanDisks's Enterprise Storage Solutions unit. SMART Storage Systems developed enterprise, solid state disk drives supporting the SATA and SAS storage protocols. Longmont is a major center of disk drive and related storage technology development and engineering.
