SlamData Sees $6.7M For Data Visualization Tools

Boulder-based SlamData, a startup developing software to help analysts query, visualize, and share data derived from NoSQL, Hadoop, and other databases, has raised $6.7M in funding. The Series A funding, announced late Wednesday, was led by Shasta Ventures. SlamData is led by Jeff Carr. The company said the funding will go towards further development of its software. Carr recently was at Precog, a Techstars graduate, which eventually was acquired by Rich Relevance in 2013; he also was part of the original Internet boom, having been at Netscape in 1997; he also founded Garfield Estates Vineyard & Winery in Palisade.
