SkyeTek Taps RF MEMS For New Product

Denver-based radio frequency identification (RFID) products maker SkyteTek has tapped some advanced some advanced, radio frequency micromechanical (RF MEMS) semiconductor for its products, according to partner WiSpry. According to the two, SkyeTek has incorporated WiSpry's RF MEMS products into its SkyeModule Nova, to automatically adjust the performance of the reader with its antenna. Financial details of the link between the companies were not announced. The two said the technique overcomes issues with competing RFID readers, which they say have difficulties achieving maximum range with real world antennas and either consume additional RF energy or simply won't work at full range.
