SimpleGeo's Galligan Departs Firm, Returns to TechStars

Matt Galligan, the founder and Chief Strategy Officer of SimpleGeo, the geolocation data firm started out of Boulder-based TechStars, is leaving the firm, Galligan revealed on both his personal blog and on the company's official blog site Monday afternoon. Galligan said he is officially stepping down from day-to-day duties at the firm, and will no longer be employed by the firm. Reason for the departure was not given. Galligan said he will now turn to become more involved in TechStars, where he was part of the 2007 inaugural class. Galligan said he will provide Business Development for the program. Galligan had relocated with SimpleGeo to San Francisco in July of last year along with co-founder Joe Stump, although the firm continued to have an engineering presence in Boulder.
