SCO Appoints New Operations President, COO

The SCO Group Inc., a provider of UNIX software technology and mobile services, said Tuesday that it has promoted Jeff Hunsaker to the role of president and chief operating officer of SCO Operations. Hunsaker, whose appointment is effective immediately, will report directly to Darl McBride, The SCO Group's president and CEO. Hunsaker succeeds Sandy Gupta, who SCO said left the company to pursue other operations; Gupta was only appointed to the position in October. Prior to his promotion, Hunsaker was the general manager and senior vice-president of SCO's mobile business. Before that, he spent more than seven years with the company's UNIX business, serving as senior vice-president of worldwide sales, senior vice-president of worldwide marketing and senior vice-president and general manager. The Lindon, Utah-based business noted that Hunsaker has also worked for Baan Corp., Corel Corp., Novell Inc. and WordPerfect Corp.
