sBiomed Taps Former Stryker Chairman As CEO

Orem, Utah-baesd sBioMed, a company developing antimicrobial and infection control products, announced this morning that it has named Stephen P. MacMillan, the former Chairman and CEO of medical devices firm Stryker, as its new CEO. The company also said that MacMillan becomes an owner of the company. sBioMed is developing a disinfectant called STERIPLEX, which kills "superbugs' like Clostridium difficile, as well as disinfectants that destroy anthrax spores. Clostridium difficile is one of a number of "superbugs" which have been causing issues at hospitals.
