RevFire Takes On Baseball Pitching
RevFire Corporation, a design and manufacturing firm specializing in sporting goods products, has developed a handheld device that measures the velocity and spin rate of a pitched ball, the company announced Thursday. Previously, coaches and pitchers could only measure the speed of a thrown ball, but the new tool, also called RevFire, can record a projectile;s revolutions per second and instantly display the results. According to the company, this feature will enable pitchers to throw more effectively, whether the technique is a fastball, curveball, slider, sinker or screwball. RevFire Corporation is a privately held company based in Boulder, Colo.
