Ramtron Ships New Chips

Colorado Springs-based Ramtron, the developer of ferroelectric-based memory, reported this morning that it has shipped the first of its devices built on its new manufacturing line at IBM. The firm said its first pre-qualification, ferroelectric random access memory (F-RAM) is now sampling broadly. The firm's chips are used for nonvolatile RAM applications. Ramtron has been in a foundry deal with IBM since 2009; the firm is using IBM;s Burlington, Vermont facility for its products.
