ProStar Gets Patent

Grand Junction, Colorado-based ProStar, a developer of web based asset management for the utility industry, has scored a patent, according to the company's IP law firm. According to Christie, Parker & Hale LLP, ProStar has been issued U.S. Patent No. 7,978,129, covering geographic information system (GIS) data transactions. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office shows that patent was issued this morning. Inventors on the patent include Tom Sawyer, Jr; Mark Beckner; Page Tucker; and Scott Austin Jones. The patent covers the firm's technology for mapping utilities buried below the surface and integrating that into GIS information systems.
