Picolight Acquired by JDSU

Louisville, Colorado-based Picolight, a maker of optical transceivers for the networking market, has been acquired by JDSU. JDSU said this morning that it will buy Picolight for $115M in stock plus $10M in cash, in a deal that is expected to close by June 30th. Picolight makes optical pluggable transceivers based on VCSEL technology, which is used for high speed optical networking. Picolight is venture backed by Charles River Ventures, Coral Capital Management, Investor Growth Capital Ltd., ORIX Venture Finance, Scale Ventures, and Vesbridge Partners.
