Photobucket Debuts New Feature Around Stories

Denver-based Photobucket is hoping to get its users to spend more time on the site, with a new feature it calls "Stories" today. The photo sharing site said that Photobucket Stories helps users combine photos and videos into complete, shareable narratives, which it says already is helping to boost the user engagement with the site. Photobucket said that the beta of the feature has driven time spent on the site up by two and a half times per user, and that users have already shared more than 100,000 of the "stories" during the beta. Photobucket, which is led by Tom Munro, has been looking to become much more than just a free place to store photos; the company has been looking to better engage users and have them spend more time using the service.
