Overstock cancelled its affiliate relationships in California Thursday, along with other online retailers, over California's plan to tax Internet purchases of companies with affiliate relationships in the state. Overstock called the sales tax law "unconstitutional". Overstock said it will provide customers who have spent more than $300 in the past year with the premium memberships. Overstock said it has so far cut ties with affiliates in Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, New York and Rhode Island over similar laws.
