Overstock To Employ 150 In Provo
Salt Lake City-based e-commerce retailer Overstock.com said last week that it is planning to open up a new, Provo software development center, which it expects to employ 150. According to Overstock.com, the new Utah County center is part of an expansion of its tech presence in Utah. The firm said it hopes to bring at least 100 of those technologists aboard within the next 12 months. Overstock.com said the new, Provo site will give it more access to the "incredible technologists" in Utah. As part of the hiring boost, Overstock.com also said it is specifically paying out $5,000 bonuses to individuals referring qualified software developers to the company; the company is targeting Java fluent developers with degrees in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering. Overstock.com already employs more than 1500 people in the state of Utah.
