Orbotix Builds Toward Sphero Launch

Boulder-based Orbotix, the TechStars firm which is developing robotic balls controlled by smartphone, looks to be building towards its launch, saying this week that it is developing a new online community focused on its Sphero robotic ball. The firm said it has tapped Pivotal Labs, a design firm which has offices in Boulder, and Boulder-based user interface and design firm Slice of Lime, to develop a "online Sphero world and community" ahead of the launch of the product. Pivotal's other clients have included Groupon and Twitter; Slice of Lime has designed sites for Etsy, DISH Network, as well as the sites for the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association and its Venture Capital In The Rockies events.
