ON Semiconductor to Acquire Analog Devices Business, Patents

Phoenix-based integrated circuit manufacturer ON Semiconductor Corp. announced Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Analog Devices Inc.'s CPU voltage-regulation and PC thermal-monitoring business. ON Semiconductor said that the total consideration for the transaction, which includes intellectual property and a one-year manufacturing supply arrangement, comes to some $185 million in cash. The purchased products and patents provided ADI with some $80 million in revenue for the 12-month period that ended Nov. 3, ON Semiconductor noted. Analog Devices is headquartered in Norwood, Mass.
