nSyte Targets Open Source Auditing

Lafayette, Colorado-based nSyte Software, a startup developing software testing tools, said today that it has launched a new open source code auditing tool. nSyte said its new product, nQuire, will help software development companies audit their code to address inadvertent use of license open source software. nSyte is looking to help companies avoid issues with the often restrictive licensing terms of open source products, many of which restrict how that code is used in commercially available products. nSyte said its tools--unlike other open source auditing tools--offers more of a "real time" detection of source, by running on an ad hoc basis or when software builds are triggered. nSyte said the subscription-based product costs as little as $250 per month.
