Novell Cancels Conference

Novell has cancelled its annual BrainShare conference, which the firm has been holding in Salt Lake City for over 20 years, the firm said Wednesday. Novell said that the conference--which was scheduled for March 2009--was cancelled because of the current economic climate. The firm, in a message to its customers from John Dragoon, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer, said that many of the firm's customers and partners had told the firm that they were under pressure to reduce travel and other controllable expenses. Novell said it would instead provide "online classes, virtual conferences and local tours" for its customers.
