Montana T. Rex Gets 3D Printed Parts

One of the most recent Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaurs unearthed from the Montana countryside, has had some high tech help--with a set of 3D, printed bones to help complete the skeleton. A European, 3D printer manufacturer, Ultimaker, said its equipment has been used to fill in the missing bones for a museum in the Netherlands, the Naturalis Biodiversity Center. The center--which is putting up the Montana T.Rex for display at the museum starting in September--apparently 3D printed missing bones, particularly in the left leg and arm, to complete the skelton for display. The Dutch museum found the T. Rex on an eastern Montana ranch. The first T. Rex was unearthed in Montana in 1902.
