Avnet Buys AI Developer Softweb Solutions
Phoenix, Arizona-based electronics distributor Avnet announced this morning that it has acquired Softweb Solutions, a developer of artificial intelligence software for the Internet of Things (IoT) area. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. According to Avnet, Softweb has approximately 500 employees spread between Dallas, Chicago and Ahmedabad, India. Avnet said the acquisition will help it with rapid design, development and deployment capabilities. The firm explained that Softweb has delivered more than 1,400 projects to 600 clients since its founding in 2004.
