Cyber Monday Sales Hit $7.9 Billion
Cyber Monday sales figures this year are expected to hit $7.9 billion, according to Adobe, saying that online sales this year are a 19.7 percent increase year-over-year. The company--which calculated the numbers at 7:00 p.m. ET last night--said that sales on Thanksgiving Day totaled $3.7 billion (up 28 percent year-over-year) and sales on Black Friday were $6.2 billion (up 23.6 percent year-over-year). Adobe said that the full season's totals, covering November 1st to 26th, totaled $58.5 billion, a 19.9 percent increase from last year. Adobe said the most popular items on Cyber Monday included Nintendo Switch, Little Live Pets, Red Dead Redemption 2, LG TVs, drones (DJI, Air Hogs, Sky Viper), Dell laptops, FurReal Pets and Amazon Echo devices. Among other trends, mobile platforms represented 34 percent of revenue on Cyber Monday, with 26.3 percent of sales revenues from smartphones, and 7.7 percent from tablets.
