Sarcos Robotics has rolled out a new, snakelike robot--the Guardian S--which the company says is aimed at traveling through such terrain as stairs, culverts, pipes, tanks, vertical ferromagnetic surfaces and confined spaces, providing two-way video, voice, and data to operators. The robot, which weighs 13.5 pounds, is aimed at inspection and surveillance. Pricing on the new robot was not announced.
