Avnet Names New CEO
Phoenix-based technology distribution giant Avnet says this morning that it has appointed William ("Bill") J. Amelio as its new Chief Executive Officer. Amelio--who has been serving as interim CEO since July 11th--was previously President, CEO, and Director of CHC Group Ltd., and also served as President and CEO of Lenovo, in addition to serving at Dell and IBM. Avnet provides distribution of everything from electronic and computer components to providing design and other services, and had $26.2 billion in revenues in its fiscal 2016.
