Security Metrics Launches Managed Firewall Service
Orem, Utah-based data security and auditing provider Security Metrics said today that it has launched a new service, to help companies manage and configure their firewalls. According to SecurityMetrics, its new offering, SecurityMetrics Managed Firewall, will allow companies to offload firewall monitoring and maintenance to the company's own Security Operations Center. The company said it has found that only 24% of merchants compromised in recent breaches had propertly configured firewalls, which are used to block unauthorized Internet traffic. Pricing on the new service was not announced.
