Fitbark: Techstars' Backs Fitbit For Dogs
Think the big trend towards tracking your every move--for fitness and health--is just for people? One of the latest companies to emerge out of the Techstars startup accelerator network is Fitbark. Fitbark--out of Techstars' Kansas City Sprint Accelerator--is developing a combination collar and smartphone apps which allow dog owners to track the activity and health of their pet. Fitbark's dog activity monitor tracks play time, sleep time, walk time, 24/7, with the aim of helping owners improve the health of pets--much as wearables are being used by people to monitor their own activity levels.
