TechStars: Accelerator Network Hits 55 Members
Boulder-based startup accelerator TechStars said over the weekend that the global network of accelerators it helped found--the Global Accelerator Network--has now hit 55 members. The group--a loose affiliation of accelerators around the world, helps connect different mentorship-driven accelerators to share best practices, and came out of an effort launched alongside Startup America in 2011 to help spread the accelerator concept across the country. TechStars--which had its humble beginnings in Boulder almost exactly seven years ago--has become the prototype for startup accelerators all over the world, and has nearly single-handedly put Boulder on the startup map. The Global Accelerator Network is now completely independent from TechStars.
