EchoStar Buys European Satellite Services Operator
Englewood, Colorado-based satellite operator EchoStar said Monday that it has acquired European mobile satellite services operator Solaris Mobile Ltd., based in Dublin, Ireland. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Solaris Mobile provides mobile communications services across Europe, and was a joint venture between Eutelsat and SES. EchoStar said the move will help it accelerate advanced mobile services throughout the European Union.
