Boulder-based bandwidth provider Zayo is continuing to build out its empire, saying this morning that it is expanding its network in Miami, Florida. Zayo said it is building a new, colocation facility in downtown Miami, and also building out a metro fiber network into its existing Miami location. Zayo said it will occupy 24,000 square feet of colocation space at its new facility in Miami, with 4 megawatts of power. Zayo said the expansion partially goes to support key Latin American fiber providers in Miami and demands from the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 XXXI Olympic Summer Games.
