First Solar Buys TetraSun
Tempe, Arizona-based First Solar said Tuesday that it is buying Silicon Valley-based TetraSun, a developer of CdTE thin film solar power technology. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. TetraSun was formerly owned by JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation and other investors. TetraSun develops solar cells which First Solar says are capable of conversion efficiencies exceeding 21 percent with commercial-scale manufacturing costs.
