TechStars Takes Off With New Sponsor: American Airlines

Boulder-based TechStars, the startup accelerator headed by David Cohen, is further ramping up its national expansion and support today, saying it has signed up a big, new sponsor for its national efforts. TechStars said that American Airlines is a new, national sponsor of TechStars, and will be offering up all of the 2013 TechStars founders rewards for up to 5 roundtrip, domestic airline tickets. TechStars said the effort will allow startups to meet with investors, meet vendors, and close big deals face to face. Financial details of the deal were not announced.

The new effort with TechStars follows the announcement of a big, new startup investment fund by American Airlines back in January; at the time, American Airlines said it would be investing in high-growth startups, entrepreneurs and incubators as a part of an effort to tap into the innovation in high tech.
