IHS Buys Two Firms
Englewood, Colorado-based IHS Inc., which supplies health and safety information to companies, said today that it has acquired two other companies, Atrion International and Syntex Management Systems. IHS said it spend a combined $80M on the two firms. The company said the acquisition of the two--which also provide environmental health and safety information--would bolster its position in the industry. Atrion is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Syntex Management Solutions Inc. is based in Houston, Texas.
