Wireless Seismic, which develops seismic data acquisition systems for the oil and gas industry, reported this week that it has received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The firm said it received United States Patent Number 7,773,457 on August 10th. The firm said the patent pertains to seismic exploration systems that facilitate real-time read out of acquired data using wireless communication techniques and describes serial data transfer within a wireless system that employs multiplexing techniques for high-speed data read out. The US Patent and Trademark Office lists Douglas Crice and Mihai Beffa as inventors of the patent. The patent was originally filed in October of 2006, and lists Marsh Fischmann & Breyfogle LLP as the attorney representing Wireless Seismic in the filing.
