Zayo Group Buys American Fiber Systems
Louisville, Colorado-based Zayo Group said today that it is buying another firm, American Fiber Systems Holdings Corporation. Zayo, which provides bandwidth and colocation services, said the acquisition will both augment and expand its fiber network, in nine tier 1 and tier 2 metropolitan markets. American Fiber Systems (AFS) provides metropolitan fiber network and telecom services in Boise, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Nashville, Reno, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Cleveland, and Minneapolis. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Zayo said this will be the 15th acquisition by the firm since its inception in 2007.
