Prostor Names Harbist As President, CEO
ProStor Systems Inc., a manufacturer of removable disk drives for data backup and archiving, reported this morning that it has hired Frank Harbist as president and chief executive officer. Harbist, the Boulder, Colo.-based firm said, comes aboard after 21 years with IT consulting powerhouse Hewlett-Packard. Most recently, ProStor noted, he was vice president of strategy and operations for HP's Business Critical Systems organization. Earlier, he served as vice president and general manager of HP's Nearline Storage division. ProStor also announced that its founder and director, Steve Georgis, will lead the RDX drive and media business as general manager. Georgis, ProStor added, will report to Harbist.
