Plasmon, a manufacturer of archiving servers and related hardware, announced Wednesday that Hooper Holmes Inc., a provider of risk assessment services for the insurance industry, will use Plasmon equipment to archive its e-mails. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Hooper Holmes, Plasmon explained, previously relied on backup tape to archive its e-mails. The use of Plasmon appliances, however, will enable Hooper Holmes to store, search and index e-mails in a way that will satisfy federal compliance requirements. Founded in 1984, Plasmon is based in Cambridge, United Kingdom with U.S. headquarters located in Broomfield, Colo.
