Microsoft To Build $112M Data Center In Wyoming

Wyoming is getting a big boost to its technology industry, as software giant Microsoft said Monday that it will build a $112M, data center in Cheyenne. The deal, announced by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead, is expected to eventually create 40 jobs, with an initial phase hiring 17 in the location. The new data center is expected to be operational in the spring of 2013. Governor Mead cited the cost savings of Wyoming's naturally cool climate, as well as affordable energy rates; the Governor said that one of his goals is recruiting data centers into the state to help bolster growth in the state.
